The main reason for the ultrasonic flowmeter displaying 0000 despite having flow rate is due to abnormal signal reception or incorrect parameter settings, which result in the system determining no effective flow rate. 1. Installation and sensor issues: Improper installation position: too far away from the pipe wall, close to turbulent areas such as bends/valves, can cause distortion of ultrasonic signals. Sensor failure: dirty transducer surface, dry coupling agent, short circuit of the circuit or corrosion of the joint, requiring cleaning, testing or replacement of coupling agent. Failure: special coupling agent needs to be reapplied to ensure sound wave transmission. 2 Abnormal working conditions and medium flow rate: When the flow rate is below the minimum detection threshold of the flowmeter (usually 0.1m/s), it cannot trigger a change in the measured medium state. High temperature gasification, excessive bubbles or impurities will affect the ultrasonic penetration rate. Temperature/pressure exceeding the limit: beyond the calibration range of the sensor (commonly -30 ℃~160 ℃), a heat dissipation or pressure reduction device needs to be installed System configuration error, parameter settings do not match: parameters such as pipe diameter, medium type (water/oil/gas), range, etc. need to be matched with the physical object. Signal processing exception: Converter water ingress or circuit board failure can cause signal decoding failure Quick troubleshooting steps: ① Check if the installation spacing of the sensor meets the formula requirements (pipe diameter x coefficient) ② Clean the surface of the transducer and reapply the coupling agent ③ Confirm that the pipeline is full and the flow rate is greater than 0.3m/s ④ Check if the parameter settings match the actual medium ⑤ Use an analog signal generator to detect if the converter is working properly.
